Lavaliere [ lav-uh-leer, lah-vuh- ] is an ornamental pendant. Originated . in the late 1600s, popularised by the Duchesse de La Vallière, Louise-Françoise de La Baume le Blanc, a mistress of King Louis XIV of France.
The Lavaliere Collection consists of 8 miniature paintings in pendants. They come in two shapes - Oval and Hexagon, Sterling silver and pyrite. Each pendant is one of a kind and each pair has its own story.
